Self-learning

Self-learning courses are provided to students as individual licenses. The school or teacher requests the desired number of licenses from ICoN and assigns them to the students. The teacher may observe everything the students have done in the course, being that the platform records all activities performed.

Students...
  • students study completely on their own: they have access to all the course materials and can complete the activities (repeating them if necessary), check their performance, thanks to automated correction, and study the detailed studysheets.
  • since the platform records all results scores and visits, students have a clear view of their progress and course of study.
  • students may choose how much time to devote to studying and how to organize their studies, in a completely flexible and independent way

  • Institutions, schools and universities that provide e-learning courses.
  • Language centers that wish to provide their students more digital teaching material than that used in face-to-face teaching, and to favor individual study, also with the support of an-internal classroom teacher, if necessary. The Language Center’s of ICoNs affiliated Universities may request the self-learning licenses for free.

Virtual classroom
E-learning or blended learning

The school or the teacher asks CoNLingua to activate a virtual class, the duration of which depends on the type of course chosen (standard, intensive or modular) and on the learning contexts. The virtual class may be managed by a teacher of the requesting institution or by an ICoN teacher, specialized in online teaching. A package of synchronous classroom managed by an ICoN teacher, conducted in a confidential web-conferencing environment may be added to each course.

In the virtual classroom…
  • the student studies in groups within a virtual environment equipped with communication and interaction tools;
  • the teacher (who may be the same as the classroom teacher) or the tutor provides continuous teaching assistance, determines the pace of study, promotes the exchange of communication within the classroom and constantly monitors student’s work to provide personalized suggestions and courses of study more effective for everyone.

  • Institutions, schools, and universities that wish to activate blended learning courses (mixed remote face-to-face learning).

Teaching resources for instructors

In this modality, access to the course is restricted to teachers, who use it as an expansion to and integration of their usual face-to-face teaching activity.

The teacher...
  • may use the course as an archive of teaching activities, written text, and audio and video content as inspiration for classroom teaching;
  • may use the materials in class to delve into certain topics and enrich the lessons with authentic material.

In this way the students do not have access to the course and cannot perform the activities with automated correction.

  • This modality is recommended for teachers who wish to enrich and broaden their personal archives with digital materials and activities to offer students.
