Italian ICoNLingua courses

ICoNLingua educational offer is organized in a series of digital materials and courses in a virtual environment, designed for learning Italian in an effective, motivating, and totally flexible fashion in terms of time and study methods.

The flexibility of the ICoNLingua model meets the needs of serveral learning profiles, such as for example:

  • self-learners and virtual classroom students
  • students enrolled in US schools
  • university students enrolled in International mobility programs
  • descendants of Italian emigrants around the world

Method

The ICoNLingua courses combine the state-of-the-art in teaching Italian and the most modern digital teaching techniques.

  • They are based on an ad hoc, innovative teaching method, where the student actively participates in the learning process, constantly called on to do, act, manipulate, face the language.
  • Learning occurs through an inductive approach; students master the language by doing activities and learning rules, meanings and uses.
  • The activities with automated correction guide the students in their discovery of the language, thus forming a real learning tool.
  • At any time, students can see the gains they have made along their course of study and review the activities performed, check their progress in learning and decide how to proceed.
  • Students can follow the recommended progression or navigate the materials freely, thus building their own, personalized course of study.
  • The courses can be accessed via browsers on all fixed or mobile devices (computer desktops, smartphones, tablets, etc.)

Structure

The ICoNLingua courses are taught in a virtual environment based on a customized installation of Moodle, easy to use, designed to accompany students throughout all stages of their course of study, and to maximize the effectiveness of digital activities.

The contents of the courses can be accessed flexibly.

Each course is made up of units – which deal with the main thematic areas and focus on the communication, language and pragmatic aims of each level.

The units include activity groups called Sessions.
